Oscar R. Tazoe

Oscar R. Tazoe, P.E. - Senior Project Engineer

Mr. Tazoe has over 23 years of civil and structural engineering experience. He previously worked on the design, permitting and construction administration of structural, paving, grading, drainage, water and sewer improvements for telecommunication, residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects throughout South Florida.

Mr. Tazoe obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Florida International University followed by a Master of Engineering Degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida. After graduation, he was employed for 7+ years with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KHA), a national engineering firm. During this time, he was involved in a variety of projects including telecommunication facilities, private commercial land development, industrial facilities, and miscellaneous structural analyses.

His responsibilities included project management, construction observation and administration, construction plan preparation and drafting, water and sewer design calculations, retaining wall design, and structural design calculations for steel and concrete structures.

Following his tenure with KHA, Mr. Tazoe worked as a Senior Engineer for Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. In this capacity, he continued work on commercial land development projects, as well as residential and institutional projects. Since coming to MEC in 2009, Mr. Tazoe's focus has been performing damage assessments of commercial and residential structures including wind and storm damage, building envelope and water in filtration, and damage from vehicular impacts.

Mr. Tazoe has been licensed in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer since 2004, holds engineering licenses in Puerto Rico and Louisiana, and is fluent in English and Spanish.
